The Yarn Initiative
The Center For Success and Independence recently launched The Yarn Initiative. Through The Yarn Initiative, students at The Center for Success and Independence voluntarily knit and crochet baby blankets and donate them to the newborns born at Ben Taub Hospital as part of their therapy at the Center. Concentrating and working with the hands while knitting or crocheting helps adolescents continue to develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress and increase self-esteem.
