We believe that there is hope and that kids can change themselves and their lives through patience and strong professional guidance. At The Center, we care about our kids and their place and successful future in our community. Profile of Youth Served Youth who have suffered from trauma, including abuse, neglect and abandonment Youth who have emotional, behavioral and/or addictive problems Youth from all racial and socioeconomic backgrounds Youth from Houston, Dallas and surrounding areas Services Offered 24-hour supervision and treatment, including psychiatric and medical services with a board certified psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner Long-term services with an average length of stay of 7-12 months Diagnostic services, including psychological and psychiatric for emotional, behavioral and learning problems Full time on-site school provided by Southwest Charter Individual, family and group psychotherapy of the youth in residence and their families, including parent education and multifamily groups Substance abuse treatment services 12-step recovery programs Anger management and conflict resolution groups Drug education and treatment, coping skills, anger management, relapse prevention, AA/NA programs and sponsorships HIV medical treatment and prevention program Incorporates a carefully maintained, consistent behavior management system |
