Wade Phillips “Son of Bum” Book Signing – June 20th

Bill Baldwin and the Center for Success and Independence invite you to a special fundraising event with football great Wade Phillips. Phillips will be signing copies of his new book "Son of Bum: Lessons My Dad Taught Me About Football and Life." The memoir delves into two of the most storied careers in American football, those of Wade and his father Bum Phillips.

Though this event is public and open to all, it rejoins important pieces of Houston football history. Robert Woods, Co-Founder/CEO of the Center for Success & Independence, played for the Oilers when when Wade was a coach. Bill’s own father, Bobby Baldwin, was Wade’s college coach at the University of Houston and they later worked together with the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints. This event was organized with the help of Trish Baldwin-Hagner, Bill's sister.

Copies of the book will be available to purchase at the event, or you can bring your own copy to be signed. All proceeds will benefit The Center for Success and Independence.
